EVOO, Phenols, Fatty Acids and Mediterranean Diet.

The HEALTH MATTERS CONVENTION agreed to be held every four years in the interest of Doctors, Chemists, Chefs and Producers of EVOO internationally. The First Health Matters Convention was held in Benalmádena, Malaga, Spain, and lasted four days. It took place from May 22 to 26, 2017. Various conferences were held in the morning and afternoon on Phenols, and the Mediterranean Diet. And a total of 80 people attended.

The WBHEC Contest for the World’s Best Healthy EVOO on Fatty Acids and Phenols, including Oleocanthal, was inaugurated.

It was the first time that a contest of these characteristics was carried out in the world that chemically measured nutritional parameters such as Saturated – Unsaturated Fats and at the same time measured the total Phenols contained in EVOO, and especially the levels of Oleocanthal. All this following the directives of the IOC (International Olive Council) and with the Tello Laboratory, guarantor of ISO 9,000.

When is celebrated?

In the following years 2018, 2019, 2020 and 2021 this competition has been held to annually assess the chemical levels of EVOO.
In 2021 we had to have celebrated the Second Health Matters Convention, “La Salud es lo que Importa”, always dedicated to EVOO – Fatty Acids – Phenols – Mediterranean Diet, the Convention could not be held this year 2021 because of Covid-19.
